burn-out-syndrome is coming more and more
Society is always thinking higher, faster, further nowadays and produces overload for many individuals. And they get the “burn-out-syndrome”. School medicine knows it as a less important diagnosis Z73.0 (ICD10) which is under-valuated. Nevertheless there are more and more clinics even specialised on burn-out. The group of “health care professionals” (doctors and others) are 2,5 to 4 times more often given this diagnosis than normal population. So there is an increasing need to find solutions in burn-out treatment.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine recognises the imbalance of the forces. TCM sees that there is a lack of decision power which results in ambivalence and an oversized perception of difficulties (p. 478 – Kursbuch Traditionelle Chinesische Medizin). in pre-clinical manner there are many people always moaning about many things…..

Therapy with QiGong
In the treatment of Burn-out QiGong plays an important role_
QiGong has a good effect on burn-out-patients. We examined 106 physio therapists. The exercise of “White-Ball-QiGong” had a deep impact on emotional exhaustion and depersonalisation of burn-out (psychovegetative exhaustion syndrome). This study was made at the university of Porto/Portugal in the setting of the Master of Chinese Medicine which you can also perform in Heidelberg. The curriculum teaches burn-out in the 3rd semester during the block “practical psychosomatics”.
